Board of Trustees
Piki Te Ora is a community-owned health service run by the Piki Te Ora Health Centre Trust, a registered charitable trust.
Our Board of Trustees governs the Trust on behalf of the community. The trustees establish our strategic direction and oversee our finances and property. They also make sure we stay true to the kaupapa our founders set in 1989: affordable, accessible and equitable healthcare for everyone.
Our trustees bring experience from health, business and the community we serve.
Kirsty Macnab
Chairperson
Background: I have been on the Board of Piki Te Ora (and previously the Board of the Union and Community Health Centre) for 8 years and have been Chairperson for the last 4 years. I came to be on the Board through my many years of work as a union advocate and my strong belief in equity of health care access.
Contribution: I am qualified in Law and have a post graduate Diploma in Dispute Resolution. I am now retired which I am really enjoying.
Kaupapa: Piki Te Ora Health Centre Trust is a taonga that has provided low cost, holistic health care for the people of East Christchurch, for over 40 years. I am proud to be a small part of it.

Background: I am a community pharmacist and have co-owned Community Pharmacy Linwood since 2013. I have worked with the Linwood community since 2012 and find it very rewarding being able to contribute to their health journey. I also work as a clinical pharmacist with 3 general practices in the Eastern suburbs.
Contribution: I have developed governance experience with several other organisations within the Canterbury health sector over the last 10 years, and hope I bring some value to the Piki Te Ora table because of this.
Kaupapa: Having worked with the local community for so long, I am invested in supporting our community to live well and be their version of healthy. I have seen over the years how Piki strives to serve their community well and they are always going above and beyond to care for their patients.
Outside the board: I was born in Canterbury and grew up on a farm. I did leave the region for a number of years, living in Auckland and then spreading my wings to the UK for 5 years, but there is nothing quite like home!
Pandora Togiaso
Board Member
Background: Talofa, Kia ora, O lo'u igoa o Pandora. I was born and raised in the East and am a proud mum of four, with strong connections to my Samoan aiga, community and culture.
Contribution: I currently work as a Medical Practice Manager and have over seven years' experience in the health sector, including working with Pegasus Health as a PRM and as a Foundation Standards Assessor for the RNZCGP. I also bring over 30 years' experience in customer service, leadership and management, including my time as a Kiwibank Bank Manager.
Kaupapa: My aiga and community are at the heart of who I am. I am passionate about supporting our families, creating strong connections and helping people feel supported and included.
Outside the board: I have a strong interest in sport, health and wellbeing, and the positive role these can play in bringing people and communities together.
